How does laser hair removal work?

Laser epilation is based on focused light that acts specifically on the hair follicles. The light energy heats the hair root, which stops growth. The skin remains unharmed, as the wavelength of the laser only penetrates as deeply as necessary – other layers of skin remain protected.

The Soprano ICE® diode laser used combines two modern technologies:

SHR™ technology: Gently heats the hair root through repeated pulses. Particularly kind to the skin, as there is no localized heat.
ICE™ technology: actively cools the skin surface via a sapphire glass window – for a safe, comfortable treatment.

What you can expect from laser hair removal - and when caution is advised

Our modern laser hair removal offers convincing advantages: it is suitable for almost all skin and hair types, is painless thanks to integrated cooling and causes no skin irritation or downtime. The treatment can even be carried out on sensitive or neurodermitic skin in many cases. An individual consultation including a thorough skin analysis is carried out before each session – this is how we ensure that the therapy suits you perfectly.

Laser epilation is not recommended for acute inflammation, infections or shortly after exposure to strong sunlight. A medical assessment should also be carried out beforehand in the case of light diseases such as EPP, fungal skin infections or during pregnancy. In this way, we guarantee maximum safety and a lasting result – individually tailored to your skin.

How to support the treatment result and protect your skin

Behavior after treatment

After laser hair removal, the skin should be:

be spared for 24-48 hours
be protected from sun & UV radiation (e.g. with high-quality sun protection)
should not be shaved or exfoliated

Please refrain from using the sauna, hot baths or other light-based treatments such as PDT for the first few days.
