Wart removal
Warts are benign skin growths that occur on various parts of the body and can have different shapes. The trigger for the development is in most cases an infection with HPV viruses. They are contagious and widespread. Infection occurs through skin contact, for example when walking barefoot in a swimming pool. Warts can appear at any age and are usually harmless and disappear on their own within weeks or months. However, they are often unsightly, painful and can therefore also be psychologically stressful. There are various treatments that can speed up the healing of warts.
Unlike viral warts, the so-called age warts are not contagious. The also harmless, but permanent skin changes can appear all over the body and usually appear at an older age. They can be itchy and also visually very disturbing.
In addition, there are also the swimming pool warts or also called dell warts (molluscs), the genital genital warts (condylomas) and other types.
Can warts be prevented?
In most cases, warts are transmitted by the HPV virus. The virus enters the skin through small skin lesions or cracked skin and infects the cells of the upper layer of the skin. Prevention is difficult because warts can be transmitted through direct skin contact or objects.
However, you can at least contain the risk of infection with the HPV virus:
- To prevent the HPV virus from finding an open skin spot to penetrate, avoid dry and cracked skin.
- Do not wear unfamiliar shoes and avoid walking barefoot in public places, saunas or swimming pools.
- Do not use foreign hygiene products and cosmetics.
- Do not bite your fingernails.
- Do not touch warts.
- Keep fit! A strong immune system will help contain infection with the virus.
Is the removal of warts painful?
Our goal is to make wart removal as gentle and painless as possible. Unfortunately, in most cases, wart removal is not completely painless, as many warts extend deep into the tissue.
