How the radio laser works
The ELVeS Radial Laser™ works with bundled light at an optimized wavelength and requires very little energy. This energy is used precisely to heat and seal the inner wall of the diseased vein before it is absorbed by the water in the vein wall. The radial, all-round laser light penetrates the tissue only slightly. Skin, muscles and fatty tissue are not damaged. This is why the treatment method is so gentle.
Carrying out the treatment
The outpatient procedure is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The practitioner works with a very thin and flexible probe. This laser fiber is inserted into the varicose vein via a tiny puncture in the lower leg and then advanced into the groin. Its tip emits the compressed light in a ring shape (radially). By slowly retracting the laser fiber, the diseased vein can be welded along the entire length of the leg. In this way, the damaging backflow of blood is stopped.
