Plasmage®:
Vaporization instead of surgery

The sun and stars, the northern lights and lightning storms are naturally occurring plasmas. Fluorescent tubes or energy-saving lamps are designed according to their ingenious model. In medicine, on the other hand, the aggregate state is mainly used to disinfect objects or wounds. The innovative Plasmage® procedure, in which excess skin is gently vaporized as an alternative to surgery, was developed especially for dermatology.

Plasmage® in dermatology

By ionizing the surrounding air, plasma is created, which is used in aesthetic dermatology. It can be used to tighten eyelids, reduce wrinkles, treat stretch marks or annoying scars without the need for a scalpel. At the same time, it offers new and particularly gentle options for removing benign skin changes such as hemangiomas, angiomas, fibromas or protruding moles, dermal nevi and xanthelasma.

Treatment procedure

Plasmage® is an outpatient therapy that can be used to treat drooping eyelids as well as wrinkles on the upper lip or benign skin changes, for example. An anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure and the skin is cooled during the procedure so that there is hardly any pain. Depending on the extent of the findings, further treatments may be necessary after around four weeks until the desired result is achieved.

Nutrition and medicines

A high-fiber diet aids digestion and is also ideal for vein problems. This is because chronic constipation has a detrimental effect on the drainage of the pelvic veins. There are also natural remedies whose effectiveness has been proven in multiple studies. These so-called phytopharmaceuticals include the seeds of horse chestnut, butcher’s broom and sweet clover. However, the costs of these are not usually reimbursed by health insurance companies.

Advantages of Plasmage®

The gentle method has hardly any side effects. After treatment, patients can drive a car without any problems and are able to socialize again within a few days. This is because swelling or crusts, which mainly form on the eyelids, heal after just 3 to 4 days. Only a very slight reddening is then visible. However, meticulous attention should be paid to reliable sun protection during this phase.
