Plasmage®: Vaporization instead of surgery

Sun and stars, northern lights or thunderstorm lightning are naturally occurring plasmas. Fluorescent tubes or energy-saving lamps are designed according to their ingenious model. In medicine, on the other hand, the aggregate state is mainly used to disinfect objects or wounds. The innovative Plasmage® process was developed specifically for dermatology, in which excess skin is gently vaporized – as an alternative to surgery.

Plasmage® in dermatology

By ionizing the surrounding air, plasma is created, which aesthetic dermatology makes use of. It can be used to tighten eyelids, reduce wrinkles, and treat stretch marks or troublesome scars without the need for a scalpel. At the same time, new and particularly gentle options are available for removing benign skin changes such as hemangiomas, angiomas, fibromas or protruding moles, dermal nevi and xanthelasma.

Procedure of the treatment

Plasmage® is an outpatient therapy that can be used to treat drooping eyelids as well as wrinkles on the upper lip or benign skin changes, for example. An anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure and the skin is cooled during the procedure so that there is hardly any pain. Depending on the extent of the findings, further treatments may be necessary after four weeks until the desired result is achieved.

Advantages of Plasmage®

The gentle method has hardly any side effects. After treatment, patients can drive home without any problems and are socially fit again within a few days. This is because crusts or swellings that form, especially on the eyelids, heal after just three to four days. Afterwards, only a slight reddening is visible. In this phase, however, it is essential to pay attention to reliable sun protection.
